Apologies and Updates

The last time I did anything on here was July. That's my bad. August was bad, September was bad, October was a little better, and November was slightly better than that. Let's hope that January keeps this crazy uplifting trend alive.

Delicious news that is new to this site here. . .but not new to the 12 people that know how to find this page or read about it. Another piece of my fiction has found its way into the world. The good people at NYU have included my piece, titled FLASHES OF GREEN, in their winter edition of the Washington Square Review.

Hey, thanks guys.

I would have loved to attend the launch party but 6,000 miles is more than a commute, it is - by definition - a trek. To fly that far to drink a martini and read a few paragraphs is usually what I put my shoes on for, but money is tight and the restaurant is short of people who know anything about tamarind or tahini. So it goes.

I have started a project along the lines of Bill Bryson. His essays and editorials on his life abroad has been planted into my fingers and with a splash of perseverance and a case of wine I should be able to put together a little ditty on island life here in Maui. If you know me at all, it is inspiration I do best and follow through that do worst. If you have my phone number, give it a call and remind my lazy ass to make something funny happen on paper. I'll appreciate it. Mind the time difference, I like to sleep in.
